Join us for the 2024 Walk Against Homelessness and Hunger on Saturday, November 2nd! This inspiring event kicks off with registration at 9:30 AM at the Salvation Army Church in Alpena. Bring your family, including children and pets, as we walk together from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM to raise awareness and funds for local programs dedicated to assisting those in need. Alpena, Alcona & Montgomery Awarded Funds Under the EFSP Program Phase 39

Alpena, Alcona, and Montgomery counties have been recognized with essential funding under Phase 39 and Phase ARPAR of the Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP), reflecting a national commitment of $530 million to support emergency aid. Alpena County alone has been awarded $10,794 and $33,363, respectively, earmarked to enhance local emergency food, shelter, and utility support initiatives. This funding represents a vital lifeline for the community, empowering local agencies to extend their reach and impact in providing critical assistance to residents in need.
